Our Mission

The Florida Kings Hockey Club exists to develop young athletes in a positive, respectful, and team focused environment. Our mission is to help players grow as hockey players and as people by emphasizing teamwork, effort, sportsmanship, and a genuine love for the game.

We believe hockey should be competitive, fun, and character building, and that success is measured by growth, respect, and integrity on and off the ice.

  • Hockey is a team sport. No single player is bigger than the team. We expect players to support one another, listen to their coaches, and understand that success and learning happen together.

  • Players are here to enjoy the game while working hard to improve. We expect:

    • Effort at every practice and game

    • Punctuality and preparation

    • Knowledge of the rules and respect for them

    • Positive sportsmanship in wins and losses

  • Respect applies to everyone at all times.

    Players, parents, and spectators are expected to treat teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, rink staff, and families with dignity and respect regardless of background, identity, or circumstance.

    There is zero tolerance for:

    • Abusive or profane language

    • Disrespect toward officials or coaches

    • Discriminatory behavior or slurs

  • Coaches are responsible for instruction, line decisions, and discipline. Parents support from the stands and allow coaches to do their jobs.

    We ask parents to:

    • Avoid coaching from the stands

    • Refrain from banging on the glass

    • Follow the 24 hour rule before raising concerns

    • Address issues privately through proper channels

  • Players are expected to:

    • Accept officiating decisions without argument

    • Control emotions and behavior

    • Avoid fighting or retaliation

    • Represent the Florida Kings positively at all rinks, hotels, and team events

    Parents and players are expected to support discipline decisions and work together to correct behavior when needed.

  • Concerns should always be handled directly and respectfully with the appropriate Florida Kings representative.

    Social media is not an acceptable place to:

    • Air grievances

    • Criticize players, coaches, or the organization

  • Florida Kings follows all USA Hockey Zero Tolerance and Code of Conduct policies. There is no tolerance for:

    • Substance use at team events

    • Unsafe or disruptive behavior

    • Actions that jeopardize the safety or experience of others

    Violations may result in disciplinary action, including suspension, in accordance with Florida Kings and USA Hockey policies.
